Point Hope Shipyards, Victoria, B.C.

Three years I lived in Victoria, on two separate occasions. I never considered shipyards interesting back then (maybe I’ve lowered the bar of what piques my interest?). Untitled ExanoramaOr maybe time and other years have gotten me used to seeing more ships afloat. So that when I see one propped aloft it seems a bit absurd – all that below-the-waterline underbelly, nothing to do.

The yard was empty this Friday afternoon, but I was able to snap a few shots through the grilled fence.  You gotta pause for these bastions of urban industry, bear witness. Better late than never._DSC6304_DSC6297 _DSC6310
